A Turkish soldier stationed in Bosnia and Herzegovina was captured and assaulted by an anti-pedophilia group, and the footage of the incident caused public outrage. In a statement confirming the footage, sources from the Ministry of National Defense stated, "Tank Specialist Sergeant Ümit Kökçıkaran's overseas temporary assignment was terminated on October 28, 2024, and subsequently, his contract was canceled on November 4, 2024, resulting in his discharge from the Turkish Armed Forces."

Images of a Turkish soldier serving in Bosnia and Herzegovina being captured by an anti-pedophilia group have caused an uproar. In the video that surfaced online, the soldier is seen being caught red-handed by Bosnian youths, who questioned him and assaulted him.

A statement was also expected from sources within the Ministry of National Defense regarding the news that appeared in some media outlets.

In the statement made by the Ministry of National Defense, it was said, "The images of a Turkish soldier serving in Bosnia and Herzegovina being captured by an anti-pedophilia group are unfortunately true. Tank Specialist Sergeant Ümit Kökçıkaran's overseas temporary assignment was terminated on October 28, 2024, and subsequently, his contract was canceled on November 4, 2024, leading to his discharge from the Turkish Armed Forces. Additionally, a legal process has been initiated against the mentioned personnel, and a criminal complaint has been filed with the Public Prosecutor's Office.
