Narin's released father spoke for the first time: The state will not let my daughter's killer go unpunished.

In Diyarbakır, father Arif Güran, who was detained and then released after giving a statement at the prosecutor's office as part of the investigation into the Narin Güran murder, spoke for the first time.

"MY FIRST STATEMENT TO THE PROSECUTOR IS THE SAME AS MY LAST STATEMENT"

Güran said, "From the first day, we have said that the state is already here. My wish was for my daughter to be alive. Even finding her dead... Now she doesn't even have a grave... There is already a confidentiality order regarding this investigation. The state is doing more than its best. With the permission of Allah, whoever it may be, whoever has been caught, whoever has been arrested, the state will bring it out. My first statement to the prosecutor is the same as my last statement."

"FOR THE SAFETY OF THE INVESTIGATION, THE STATE CAN TAKE ANYONE"

Arif Güran said, "My first statement, my second statement, my last statement are all the same. For the safety of this investigation, the state can take anyone. The state will not let the blood of my daughter's killer go unpunished. The Turkish people have stood up for my daughter, may Allah be pleased with them. If I had any suspicions, I would have shared them with the gendarmerie. My son was taken and released again. He will be taken and released again.

The village has 90 households. There are only 10 houses with the surname Güran. They have been here for centuries. If I knew, I would have already said it. I believe justice will prevail. The Turkish people have stood up for my daughter. When I came in the early morning, I went to my daughter's grave. We live in the Republic of Turkey. Nothing will be left behind."

Arif Güran also said about suspect Nevzat Bahtiyar, who confessed to the murder, "He is a person who sits beside me in the mosque every evening, but you cannot see people's ugly faces when sitting beside them."
