The national athlete Caner Tikicieri was found to have been killed in an incident that occurred in Istanbul about a week ago. The details of the incident, which took place on September 3rd in the Aşık Veysel neighborhood of Ataşehir, were learned days later. Caner Tikicieri, a member of the Kickboxing Federation, national kickboxer, and coach, recently bought a new car. Allegedly, he owed approximately 250 thousand lira to the people he bought the car from. This debt caused animosity. SHOT IN THE HEADAccording to the news of Habertürk reporter Mustafa Şekeroğlu; on the day of the incident, Caner Tikicieri and his creditor Halil G. (25) gathered with a few friends to talk. Allegedly, the conversation quickly turned into a fight; then it turned into an armed conflict. Halil G. fired at Tikicieri's head. Caner Tikicieri, who was injured, fell to the ground. His friend Buğra Ş. fired at Halil G. Halil G., whose bullet grazed his head, was slightly injured. Caner Tikicieri, who was taken to the hospital, lost his life. "HE DIED BY MISTAKE"Upon the notification, the police teams who arrived at the scene initiated a comprehensive investigation. The suspect Halil G., who was taken into custody as part of the investigation conducted by the Homicide Bureau, claimed in his initial statement that he did not use a weapon. According to Halil G.'s statement; "I sold a car to Caner, and I still had some money to collect. We were in a fight because of this issue. We met at the scene to discuss the matter. An argument broke out, and Caner's friend Buğra fired at me, accidentally hitting Caner as well. I did not use a weapon in the incident," he allegedly said. WITNESS STATEMENT REVEALED THE TRUTHAfter the suspect's statement, Homicide Bureau Detectives, who deepened the investigation, also turned to the testimony of an eyewitness. According to the witness's statement, he heard the sound of a fight at the scene and went outside, stating that the two groups were fighting and that Halil G. shot and injured Caner Tikicieri, and later Buğra Ş. also injured Halil G. 3 SUSPECTS WERE REFERRED TO THE COURTHOUSEBased on this information, Halil G., who used a weapon in the incident, along with Muhammed Y.G. (19) and Kadir G. (19) who were with him, were taken into custody. After the procedures at the Public Security Branch, the suspects were referred to the courthouse.
