The best eight teams from the East and West will be in the 2020 NBA playoffs once the regular season ends.

Lakers duo LeBron, Davis on fire in Denver

The NBA superstar LeBron James has made "triple-double" to contribute to the Los Angeles Lakers' overtime away win against Denver Nuggets by 120-116 in Colorado.

The regular time ended 111-111 when James missed his shot at the buzzer. In the overtime, the Lakers, behind two huge three-pointers by Anthony Davis, managed to pull away.

James scored 32 points, made 14 assists and grabbed 12 rebounds to record his 12th triple-double this season, meanwhile Davis had 33 points and 10 rebounds.

The Nuggets point guard Jamal Murray produced 32 points and 10 assists.

The Nuggets are trailing the leaders. The second-placed Nuggets won 38 games but lost 17.

Blazers star Lillard to miss NBA All-Star

The Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard will not be able to participate in the 69th NBA All-Star Game over a groin injury he suffered on Wednesday, the NBA said on its website.

"Damian Lillard says he'll miss All-Star Weekend with a strained groin," the NBA stated.

"That's something you look forward to, those festivities and having fun," Lillard said.

"But my health is first, and I knew right away. I'll still be there and be a part of it, but I'm not going to play," the 29-year-old star remarked after his team's loss to Memphis Grizzlies by 111-104.

Five-time All-Star, Lillard, was in the Team LeBron reserves, averaging career-high 29.7 points and 7.9 assists per game.

The 69th NBA All-Star game will be held in the Chicago Bulls' home court United Center on Sunday, Feb. 16.
