The iron goalpost of a football field inside a site in Erzurum fell on 4-year-old Selahattin Eyyubi Çobanoğlu. The child, who was taken to the hospital, lost his life on the way. The grieving family will file a criminal complaint against those responsible for the negligence in the incident.

The iron goal post of a football field in the Aziziye district of Erzurum fell on 4-year-old Selahattin Eyyubi Çobanoğlu. The child died on the way to the hospital. Site residents said that the iron posts were not secured.

IRON GOAL POST FELL ON HIM WHILE PLAYING IN THE PARK

The incident took place on July 19th around 16:30 in a site in the Dadaşkent neighborhood. The iron goal post fell on Selahattin Eyyubi Çobanoğlu while he was playing in the miniature football field in the site's park.

Selahattin, the youngest of Zeynep-Abdulkadir couple's 3 children, died on the way to the hospital, severely injured, accompanied by his 57-year-old grandfather Vedat Özdeltar.

A funeral prayer was held for Selahattin at the Hacı Fakirullah Efendi Mosque. After the prayer, the funeral was buried in the Yeni Asri Cemetery.

"IRON POSTS WERE NOT SECURED"

Ahmet Çoban, one of the site residents, stated that the iron posts of the football field in the site were not secured. He said, "There is no concrete filling at all. They didn't secure it by welding it to the sides. When the children play here, the iron post is slightly inclined and falls on the child's head when someone touches it. The little child is gone, we are shocked."
