The Yedigöze Waterfalls located in Yedigöze Forest Park in the Aladağ district of Adana have dried up due to the ongoing drought, leaving behind a sign that reads, "Entering the water is dangerous and prohibited."

Dryness is deeply felt in Adana, as it is across the country in recent times. Until this year, the Yedigöze Waterfalls located in the Yedigöze Forest Park in the Aladağ district, which was a popular spot for citizens wanting to escape the stress of the city, especially during the summer heat, have dried up due to the drought. As the waterfalls dried up, citizens began to avoid the area. The waterfalls, which have turned into an almost abandoned area, have started to crack in the soil due to lack of water. A sign stating "Entering the water is dangerous and prohibited" by the dried-up waterfall drew attention.

"GOD WILLING, IT WILL RETURN TO ITS FORMER STATE"

Murat Akbaş, who came to the area for a picnic without knowing that the Yedigöze Waterfalls had dried up, said, "We are in the Aladağ Yedigöze area. When we came last year, it was crowded. But right now, there is neither water nor waterfalls. The riverbeds have dried up. We are waiting for rain; God willing, it will return to its former state."

No water left, no prohibition! Danger is growing step by step

Citizen Cüneyt Çetinkaya stated, "When we came here in previous years, these areas were filled with water. This year, we came and everything is empty. The waters are not flowing."

THE RESERVOIR'S FILLING RATE HAS DROPPED TO 10%

On the other hand, the drought has not only affected the waterfall but also the Yedigöze Dam. The Yedigöze Dam, which has a capacity of 642 million cubic meters, had a filling rate of 40% measured on August 21 last year. However, on the same date this year, due to the lack of rainfall, hot weather, and drought, the filling rate of the dam has decreased to 10%.
