The number of people who lost their lives in the floods in Nepal last week has risen to 1,252, while 4,216 people are still reported missing.
The death toll is rising in the flood disaster that occurred on August 26 in Nepal's Rasuwa district. As search and rescue efforts continue, the number of fatalities has risen to 1252, and no news has been received from 4216 people.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) of Nepal announced the latest situation regarding the flood disaster in Rasuwa district.
BODIES RECOVERED FROM 8 REGIONS
According to the statement, bodies were reached during operations carried out in 8 different regions affected by the floodwaters. It was reported that the fatalities were 355 in Chitwan, 218 in East Nawalparasi, 208 in West Nawalparasi, 177 in Nuwakot, 127 in Rasuwa, 69 in Gorkha, 60 in Dhading, and 38 in Tanahun.
It was stated that the total death toll has risen to 1252.
MORE THAN 5 THOUSAND PEOPLE TAKEN UNDER TREATMENT
It was recorded that a total of 5135 people who were injured or had health problems in the flood disaster were taken under treatment, and 301 of them continue to receive treatment in various hospitals.
It was announced that 11,993 people were transported to safe areas in evacuation and rescue operations where helicopters were also used.
NO NEWS FROM 4216 PEOPLE
It was reported that 4216 people are missing in the regions where search efforts continue. Among the missing are approximately 900 hydroelectric power plant workers and 583 foreign nationals.
21,402 SECURITY PERSONNEL IN THE FIELD
Following the disaster, a large-scale search, rescue, and aid operation was launched. It was reported that 21,402 security personnel are working in the operations.
