Netanyahu indicated that there would be "intense warfare" if Hezbollah does not comply with the ceasefire, stating, "If there is a serious violation of the agreement, we will not only conduct pinpoint operations as we are doing now, but we will use force every time. I have instructed the army to prepare for intense warfare in the event of a serious violation of the agreement." In response to the question of why Israel did not create a buffer zone in southern Lebanon, Netanyahu conveyed that the threat of a ground invasion has been eliminated. He mentioned that the Israeli army has destroyed Hezbollah's above-ground and underground shelters and tunnels along the Lebanese border. Regarding Iran's nuclear program, Netanyahu emphasized that he would do everything possible to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. LEBANON PARLIAMENT EXTENDS THE TERMS OF SERVICE OF ARMY COMMANDERS BY ONE YEARAccording to a report by Lebanon's official agency NNA, in the first session held after the ceasefire agreement with Israel, the proposal by Deputy Speaker of Parliament Elias Abu Saab to "extend the terms of service of brigadier generals and higher-ranking officers in the army" was voted on. The proposal was accepted with the approval of 48 members of parliament. In this context, the term of Chief of Staff Joseph Aoun was also extended by one year. While the presidential election in Lebanon could not be held in its third year, terms of service are being extended instead of high-level appointments. ISRAEL HAS STARTED TO VIOLATE THE CEASEFIREOn the other hand, the Lebanese army reported that the ceasefire agreement, which came into effect on November 27, has been violated several times by Israel. The statement noted that Israel targeted Lebanese territory with air violations and armed attacks. It was also emphasized that, as per the agreement, there should be no attacks on civilian, military, or state targets. CEASEFIRE AGREEMENT BETWEEN LEBANON AND ISRAELThe ceasefire agreement reached between Lebanon and Israel came into effect on Wednesday, November 27, at 04:00 local time (05:00 TRT). The second article of the agreement stated, "Israel shall not carry out any military attack on civilian, military, or state targets in Lebanon by land, sea, or air." However, as a result of the Israeli army targeting a square in the town of Markaba, near Marjayoun in southern Lebanon, two people were injured. Following the implementation of the ceasefire, the Israeli army conducted an airstrike on the city of Sidon for the "first time" this evening, with Israeli Army Spokesperson Avichay Adraee stating on social media that they targeted a location they claimed was a "medium-range rocket depot belonging to Hezbollah."
