Following calls for the US to take action against the violent acts of Israeli settlers against Palestinians, it has been reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the evacuation and demolition of some illegal outposts in the occupied West Bank. US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee described Israeli settlers as 'terrorists,' urging the Israeli government to take action against the settlers' 'crimes and acts of terror.'

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been alleged to have ordered the evacuation and demolition of certain illegal outposts built without the official approval of the Tel Aviv administration in the occupied West Bank.

THE INSTRUCTION CAME FOLLOWING US-PRESSURED PRESSURE

According to a report by the UK-based Reuters news agency, citing two sources on the matter, Netanyahu's instruction came after pressure from the US for the Israeli administration to take action against Israeli settlers' attacks on Palestinians.

No specific details were given as to when Netanyahu's instruction would begin to be implemented.

IT COVERS OUTPOSTS ESTABLISHED WITHOUT OFFICIAL AUTHORIZATION

However, it was stated that the instruction covers outposts established by illegal settlers without official authorization from the Israeli state.

The report claimed that these outposts generally consist of prefabricated structures and house a small number of settlers. It also argued that the Israeli administration periodically demolishes these structures, while some are later formally recognized and allowed to benefit from state support.

US ACCUSES ISRAELI SETTLERS OF BEING "TERRORISTS"

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee also made an official visit to the West Bank, meeting with Palestinian Americans. During the visit, Huckabee condemned the violent actions of Israeli settlers against Palestinians.

The American diplomat described Israeli settlers involved in violent incidents as "terrorists," stating that the actions of these individuals should have serious consequences. Huckabee argued that it would be in the country's own interest for the Israeli administration to take action against the settlers' "crimes and acts of terror."

THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF OUTPOSTS UNDER OCCUPATION IN THE WEST BANK

According to data from the Israel-based organization "Peace Now," which opposes the expansion of illegal settlements in the West Bank and supports a two-state solution between Palestine and Israel, there are approximately 340 outposts under occupation in the West Bank. It is noted that the Israeli government officially recognizes 146 settlement units in the region.

United Nations (UN) agencies and many countries consider Israel's settlements in the West Bank to be contrary to international law, viewing the region as occupied territory under Israeli military control.

THEY HAD BESIEGED HOMES BELONGING TO PALESTINIANS

Last month, Israeli settlers besieged several homes belonging to Palestinians in the village of Kusra near the city of Nablus in the West Bank. One of the besieged homes was reported to belong to a Palestinian US citizen.

The Israeli army intervened at the scene to remove the settlers from the area, but villagers stated that they continued to be subjected to harassment and threats from the settlers afterward.

Although the Israeli government sometimes condemns violent acts by settlers against Palestinians, individuals involved in these attacks are rarely detained or prosecuted.
