After the disappearance of 8-year-old Narin Güran in the rural Tavşantepe neighborhood of the Bağlar district of Diyarbakır on August 21, her body was found in the Eğertutmaz stream 19 days later. The trial regarding her murder continues on its second day with the testimonies of witnesses being taken. In the trial held at the Diyarbakır 8th High Criminal Court, Nevzat Bahtiyar and Narin's uncle Erhan Güran gave their statements. NEVZAT BAHTİYAR'S BROTHER: OFFERS CAME THROUGH INTERMEDIARIESIn his testimony, Vecdi Bahtiyar stated that he was working in Hatay when Narin went missing and later returned to the village. Bahtiyar said, "Ali Rıza Güran told Hasan Kaya, 'Nevzat killed the girl, everyone knows, let him confess, let him take the blame.' I went and told Nevzat during our meeting," he said. Bahtiyar, who was asked by the former President of the Diyarbakır Bar Association, Nahit Eren, about his phone conversations with Salim Güran, said, "I said, I hope you find her, did you find her?" In response to Eren's question, "Did you feel the need to ask 2-3 times a day? Why didn't you call again after August 23?" Vecdi Bahtiyar replied, "Because I came to the village." When Yüksel Güran's lawyer asked, "You said Ali Rıza Güran made an offer. You said he conveyed it through other intermediaries, right?" Bahtiyar responded, "Yes, there was also a phone conversation. İbrahim Bahtiyar said it to Hasan Kaya," he stated. UNCLE ERHAN GÜRAN: WE DID NOT START A FIREAfter Bahtiyar, the testimony of Narin's uncle Erhan Güran was taken. When asked if a fire was started in the village to distract the security forces while Narin was being searched, Erhan Güran said: - Judge: Did you plan this fire?
- Erhan Güran: Even if we wanted to, we couldn't, the fences are very high.
- Judge: Why did you install the camera?
- Erhan Güran: There were constant activities around my house. We installed the camera so that they wouldn't throw anything in front of our house.
- Judge: Did you install the camera before Narin was found?
- Erhan Güran: Yes, on September 4.
- Judge: Did you hold secret meetings in these houses? Did you act to prevent Narin from coming out knowing who killed her?
- Erhan Güran: Not to prevent her from coming out, we gathered to help if someone knew something.
- Judge: Was Salim present at these meetings?
- Erhan Güran: No, he was always with the law enforcement.
- Judge: You are outside, you are not detained. What is the situation with Vecdi Bahtiyar? Was there a money offer?
- Erhan Güran: We definitely did not come together with Vecdi. His number was not saved. He called me, introduced himself; he said, 'We have no crime.' I said, 'Did we say anything to you?' He said, 'No.'
