On August 26th, a missing report was filed for Reşa Zeyn, a 40-year-old woman in İskenderun. In response, the police initiated an investigation and determined that the suspect, 28-year-old Hani Kurdi, had taken the missing woman to his residence and killed her by hitting her head with a wooden stick. The suspect took 3 twisted bracelets, 1 bracelet, 1 necklace, 3 rings with blood stains, and 5 earrings from the victim and wrapped her body in a sheet before throwing it into a canal on the roadside in Modernevler neighborhood, under the highway. Kurdi, the perpetrator, was arrested and sent to prison after being brought before the court. HER BODY WAS THROWN INTO AN EMPTY AREA AFTER BEING DROWNED FOR THE GOLDHalit Humsa, the 21-year-old son of the woman who was killed by her neighbor, shared what he knew about the horrific incident. Humsa thanked the police for finding his mother's killer and explained that their neighbor invited his mother to have coffee and then beat her to death with a stick for the gold. "The neighbor's son sends messages to my mother when his mother is not at home, saying 'let's have coffee.' My mother goes, and as soon as she enters the door, she is hit on the head. He drowned my mother for the gold, and we found her lifeless body 3 days later. He threw her into an empty area and escaped on a motorcycle. We found my mother 3 days later. She went missing on August 26th, and we found her on August 28th. I am very grateful to the police, may God bless them. If it weren't for them, we wouldn't have any news at all," he said.
