The Social Security Institution (SGK) has made changes to the premium calculation for employees. The new regulations officially came into effect on January 1st.
SOME PAYMENTS WILL BE EXEMPT FROM PREMIUMS
According to the new regulation, some payments will be exempt from premiums. Additionally, the amounts set for family and child assistance, private health insurance, and meal allowances have also been increased.
DETAILS OF EXEMPTION IN FAMILY ASSISTANCE
If the employee's spouse does not work or does not receive a pension, the monthly family assistance amount of 2,600 TL will no longer be included in the SGK premium. However, amounts exceeding this specified amount will be subject to premiums.
EXEMPTION VALID FOR UP TO TWO CHILDREN
Another change has been made in child assistance. Accordingly, the assistance amount of up to 520.11 TL per child will be exempt from premiums. This exemption will be valid for up to two children.
MEAL ALLOWANCE WILL ALSO BE EXEMPT FROM PREMIUMS
Furthermore, the meal allowance provided in cash by employers to employees will not be included in the premium for the portion up to 158 TL per day. If meals are provided at the workplace or meal cards are used, a different application will be implemented.
