In a statement from the General Directorate, responses were given to the claims that have been circulating on social media regarding meat regulations. MINISTRY DENIES PORK CLAIMSThe statement said, "The Turkish Food Codex Regulation on Raw Red Meat and Prepared Red Meat Mixtures, which has been circulated on some social media accounts claiming that 'pork has been classified as a type of meat for butchery,' is not in effect. There is no definition, expression, or reference to pork in the currently effective Turkish Food Codex Regulation on Meat and Prepared Meat Mixtures." The statement emphasized that all inspections carried out by the ministry are conducted meticulously within the framework of this and other legislative provisions, and it was reported that the disinformation, manipulation, slander, and lies spread on social media do not reflect the truth.
