The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) has made significant updates to ATMs and mobile applications in order to improve user experience and prevent fraudulent activities. Among these innovations, the card swallowing feature and the new transaction menu are the most prominent in ATMs. In addition to traditional money transfer methods such as EFT, wire transfer, and FAST, the new transaction menu offered to users has made operations such as "Update Account Information" and "Change Password" more secure. These operations can now be performed in a safer manner through internet banking or mobile banking. With the recent updates, the card swallowing feature has been activated in ATMs to prevent fraudulent activities. THE CARDS OF THOSE WHO PERFORM THIS OPERATION WILL BE TAKENWith the recent updates made in ATMs, the card swallowing feature has been added to prevent fraudulent individuals. This ensures the security of the banking system by preventing suspicious transactions carried out at ATMs. WHEN CAN YOUR ATM CARD BE SWALLOWEDEntering the password incorrectly three times: If you enter your password incorrectly three times, your card may be swallowed as a security measure. This prevents the use of stolen or lost cards. Cancellation of the card due to debt: If your card is canceled by your bank due to debt, your ATM card may be swallowed. Expiration date of the card has passed: If you try to make a transaction with an expired card, your ATM card may be swallowed. Technical malfunction at the ATM: In rare cases, if there is a technical malfunction at the ATM, your card may be swallowed. Reporting the card as lost or stolen: If you report that your card is lost or stolen to your bank, your card may be swallowed.
