The decline in oil prices, as tensions between the US and Iran ease, is reflected as a discount in fuel prices. Effective tomorrow, a reduction of 2.95 TL per liter in diesel prices is expected.

Oil prices, which rose with the escalation of US-Iran tensions, have given way to a decline, bringing good news that will delight drivers at the pump. Following the US's halt of attacks on Iran, the retreat in oil prices is being reflected at the pump. A reduction in the diesel price per liter is expected from tomorrow.

EXPECTED DISCOUNT OF 2.95 TL ON DIESEL

After a series of consecutive hikes, the drop in Brent oil prices has brought a discount to fuel prices. A discount of 2.95 lira per liter on diesel is anticipated, effective from tomorrow. Following the discount, the diesel price per liter is expected to fall to the following levels in major cities and eastern provinces:

  • Istanbul: 75.57 TL
  • Ankara: 76.68 TL
  • Izmir: 76.95 TL
  • Eastern Provinces: 78.41 TL

ESCALATOR MOBILE SYSTEM REACTIVATED

To prevent fluctuations in oil prices from directly impacting citizens, the government has reactivated the escalator mobile system. Under this system, price increases are curbed up to the amount of the Special Consumption Tax (SCT) on fuel. With the new implementation, only 25% of potential price hikes are reflected at the pump, while 75% is covered by the SCT. The activation of the escalator mobile system has supported the disinflation process and prevented sharp rises that could occur on the inflation front.
