SILENCE REIGNS IN GULEN'S VILLAGE

Silence prevails in the rural Şehit Burak Karakoç neighborhood of Pasinler, Erzurum, where FETÖ/PDY leader Fetullah Gülen was born and who died in the USA. The couple İbrahim and Çiğdem Sürücü, who lost their son Yakup Sürücü, a special operations police officer, during the July 15 coup attempt, went to the martyrdom site in the neighborhood right across and called out, "My son, the traitor is dead," while visiting their son's grave.

"THE DOOR OF THE STONE HOUSE NEVER OPENED"

Silence reigns in the rural Şehit Burak Karakoç neighborhood of Pasinler, where FETÖ/PDY leader Fetullah Gülen was born and who died in the USA. Villagers do not make any comments on this matter. Abdurrahim Karakoç (59), a father of three whose son was named after the martyr in the neighborhood right across, used striking expressions regarding Gülen. Karakoç said, "Gülen used to walk around with his father, who was an imam. They moved to Izmir with their family when he was only 6 years old. We were born and raised in the same village. He was older than us. He came to our village once in the 1990s, but we couldn't see him due to the crowd. On the night of July 15, the door of the stone house that was intended to be burned in the village never opened except for the officials. My son was martyred on September 9, 2016, the 17th day of the Euphrates Shield Operation initiated by the Turkish Armed Forces, when he was attacked by ISIS terrorists with rockets in the southern region of Rai, Syria. We asked for help from then-Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım to change the name of the neighborhood, which was called Korucuk at that time. A week after his martyrdom, the name of Korucuk was changed to 'Şehit Burak Karakoç' by a decision of the Pasinler Municipality council," he stated.

THEY GAVE GOOD NEWS TO MARTYR CHILDREN

İbrahim Sürücü and his wife Çiğdem Sürücü, who live in the opposite neighborhood and lost their son Yakup Sürücü, a special operations police officer, on the night of July 15, went to the martyrdom site to give the good news to their children. Çiğdem Sürücü, who prayed at the grave of their martyred son in the rural Taşkaynak neighborhood of Pasinler, said, "My son, the traitor is dead. Today is the day I celebrated my hafiz's wedding. Because the world is saved from the infidel. For nine years, my children's tears have not dried, and I hope that stones will be tied to his grave and coffin just like that. Those behind this will take an example from this and repent and return to Islam. The news of his death we learned over the phone was the greatest news for us. Today is the day I will play. The day has come for me to have drums played. Today is my happiest day. For the first time, my heart feels at ease. I am both a martyr's mother and a hafiz's mother, and I am a proud mother. May they raise such a brave child that the world admires him while he is alive, and when he dies, he finds a place to rest," she said.

"I WILL ALSO SACRIFICE"

İbrahim Sürücü, the father of Yakup Sürücü, a police officer who went to the Ankara Gölbaşı Special Operations Department upon learning of the coup attempt on July 15, despite being on leave, said: "My son is now resting peacefully in his grave. Today I received a news like a blessing. I will also sacrifice. My son is gone, but the homeland remains. You know, this infidel was trying to divide this homeland, but why couldn't he? There was power behind this. Do you know who our power is? It is Allah. We draw our strength from Allah. The parents who raised him and brought him into this world should not come out of hell for raising such a child. Look at what they have done to this country. He should never come out of the hellfire, this country has been saved. I call out to those behind this, let them stop these things. My son is gone, but the homeland remains, the parents remain, our honor remains. I call out to the powers behind this. Let them leave this matter. Let them return and not disrupt our unity and togetherness."
