It was stated that the mobile shelters, which have started mass production at facilities in the city of Dzerzhinsk in the Nizhny Novgorod region of western Russia, can be used not only for man-made disasters but also for natural disasters. It was reported that the mobile shelters have a capacity of 54 people, and this number can be increased. The statement said, "The start of mass production of the mobile shelter represents an important step towards enhancing the safety of citizens." The developers of the mobile shelters announced at a promotional meeting last year that the shelters provide protection for 48 hours against light nuclear attacks, fires, armed assaults, radioactive releases, and chemical hazards.
