The body of 1.5-month pregnant Nurgül Aslan, who was killed along with Ercan Zengin in a armed attack on a parked car in Aydın, was not claimed by her family.

The body of 25-year-old Nurgül Aslan, who was 1.5 months pregnant and murdered by her husband Erkan Aslan in the Söke district of Aydın, was not claimed by her family. After official procedures, the young woman's remains were buried in the paupers' cemetery in Kuşadası.

The femicide that shocked Aydın and all of Turkey occurred in the Söke district. Erkan Aslan opened fire with a gun on his wife Nurgül Aslan and accompanying Ercan Zengin inside a parked car. In the chilling attack, Nurgül Aslan and Ercan Zengin lost their lives. Following the examination at the forensic medicine institution, it was revealed that the murdered 25-year-old Nurgül Aslan was 1.5 months pregnant and preparing to become a mother.

After days in the morgue, the young woman's remains, rejected by her family, were taken by authorities to the Paupers' Cemetery in Kuşadası district and quietly buried.

MURDERER HUSBAND CAUGHT IN VACANT LOT

Teams from the Aydın Police Department launched a large-scale manhunt to capture the enraged husband Erkan Aslan, who fled after the double murder. Following technical and physical surveillance, the murder suspect was located hiding in the Kuşadası district. Caught in a dawn operation in a vacant lot, Erkan Aslan was arrested by the court after police procedures and sent to prison.

5 PEOPLE WHO HELPED HIM ESCAPE ALSO ARRESTED

Deepening the investigation, police teams identified one by one the individuals who organized the murderous husband Erkan Aslan's escape after the crime and helped him hide by providing a safe haven. Five suspects—M.M., B.A., Y.A., E.A., and Y.G.—taken into custody in simultaneous raids were arrested by the court on charges of 'harboring and assisting the offender' and placed in prison. The multifaceted investigation into the incident continues.
