The former President of the Search and Rescue Association, Nasuh Mahruki, was subjected to an investigation for the crime of 'publicly disseminating misleading information' due to statements he made on social media. As part of the investigation, the suspect Mahruki came to the courthouse and gave a statement to the Prosecutor's Office. Following his statement, he was arrested on November 20 by the duty magistrate for the same crime and sent to prison. OBJECTION TO HIS DETENTIONRegarding the matter, the lawyers of the suspect Mahruki submitted an objection petition to the Istanbul Courthouse located in Çağlayan. In the petition submitted to the Istanbul 5th Peace Criminal Court, it was stated, "My client has been arrested due to 2 posts in which he shared his concerns about election security and electronic voting. His aim is to draw attention to election security and share his concerns about election security and electronic voting with his followers. The detention order issued against my client should also be evaluated in the context of freedom of expression. As soon as my client became aware of the investigation opened against him, he came to the courthouse with his lawyer and gave a statement to the Prosecutor's Office. We request that a decision be made for his release."
