After the meeting held by Okan Buruk and Abdullah Kavukcu at Galatasaray, it was decided to part ways with Elias Jelert, Victor Nelsson, Carlos Cuesta, and Nicolo Zaniolo.
Galatasaray, who celebrated their fourth consecutive championship in the Super Lig and 26th overall, have started working on the squad structure for the new season.
In the meeting held by head coach Okan Buruk and Sporting Inc. Vice President Abdullah Kavukcu, the players not considered for the team were discussed.
4 PLAYERS ARE PARTING WAYS
After evaluations, the 4 names that Galatasaray does not plan to include in the squad for next season have been determined.
ELIAS JELERT
A decision was reached for the departure of Danish right-back Elias Jelert, who fell short of expectations last season. Jelert, who has a contract until 2029, played 35 matches and scored 1 goal in the red and yellow jersey.
VICTOR NELSSON
Victor Nelsson, who spent the season on loan at Italian Serie A side Verona, is also not being considered for the team. The Danish center-back has one more year left on his contract with Galatasaray.
CARLOS CUESTA
Carlos Cuesta, who joined the squad during the mid-season transfer window of the 2024-2025 season, also made the departure list. The Colombian defender only managed 9 appearances in the Galatasaray jersey.
NICOLO ZANIOLO
Nicolo Zaniolo, one of Galatasaray's players with high transfer fee expectations, was also listed among the players whose departure is finalized. The Italian star contributed with 6 goals and 7 assists in 38 matches last season.
AGENTS INFORMED
It was reported that the red and yellow management contacted the agents of the aforementioned players and communicated the decision to part ways. Galatasaray is said to be ready to evaluate offers for these players.
