The dialogue between Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and AK Party's Savcı Sayan at the funeral of Olcay Baykal, wife of former CHP Chairman Deniz Baykal, has created a bombshell in the political agenda. After Sayan's words 'You should not have obeyed Önder Sav,' former CHP Secretary General Önder Sav broke his silence and recounted events from years ago, addressing the 'absolute nullity' process, saying, 'After looking at what they did, it would be very inappropriate for me to say 'I don't regret it.'
Olcay Baykal, wife of former CHP Chairman Deniz Baykal, who passed away at the age of 88 in a hospital in Antalya where she was receiving treatment, was bid farewell in a ceremony held in Ankara.

The funeral ceremony was marked by a dialogue that took place in the mosque courtyard between CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and AK Party member Savcı Sayan. Sayan, approaching Kılıçdaroğlu who was about to get into his car, was seen saying, "If you had listened to me that night when I dropped you home, none of this would have happened. You should not have followed Önder Sav. I told you that night." In response to these words, Kılıçdaroğlu merely said, "Oh well, never mind," and headed to his car.
ÖNDER SAV BREAKS HIS SILENCE
Following the footage, clear statements on the matter came from former CHP General Secretary Önder Sav, the person named in the dialogue. Stating that Savcı Sayan referred to a warning from 16 years ago, Sav said, "His words suggest that they spoke before Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu announced his candidacy for the chairmanship and that he warned him. It appears Sayan said, 'You step aside, let Deniz Baykal come. Later, the party will make you chairman.' However, one should not compare the events that forced Baykal to resign with the current situation. The political events of 16 years ago were different."

Önder Sav, admitting that in the chaotic environment following Deniz Baykal's resignation 16 years ago, contrary to the majority of Central Executive Committee members, he saw benefit in Kılıçdaroğlu becoming chairman, made very harsh criticisms regarding the current situation.
Claiming that Kılıçdaroğlu could not meet the outcome with democratic maturity after losing the chairmanship to Özgür Özel at the 2023 convention, Sav touched on the recent legal processes and said: "In that chaotic environment, a way out had to be sought, and I saw benefit in Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu becoming chairman. But now, after looking at what has happened, especially after the court's absolute nullity decision today and Kılıçdaroğlu's actions, it would certainly be very inappropriate for me to say 'I do not regret it.'"
