Professor Dr. Türkan Öztürk Topcu, a Medical Oncology Specialist at Biruni University Medical Faculty Hospital, was a guest on the "Healing Begins Here" program hosted by Meral Karadağ in the Haberler.com studio. Discussing various topics from cancer risk factors to genetic influences, Öztürk stated, "There is no evidence that vaccines cause cancer."
In the program "Recovery Starts Here," hosted by Meral Karadağ on Haberler.com, Prof. Dr. Türkan Öztürk Topcu made important evaluations. Öztürk pointed out that one of the biggest risk factors for cancer is aging and emphasized the impact of genetic and environmental factors on cancer.
"THERE IS NO EVIDENCE THAT VACCINES CAUSE CANCER"
Prof. Dr. Türkan Öztürk Topcu clarified the discussions regarding vaccines. Stating that "there is no evidence that vaccines cause cancer," Öztürk noted that a longer lifespan is a factor that increases cancer risk. Additionally, she emphasized that genetic factors affect cancer by about 15%.
"SMOKING AND ALCOHOL INCREASE CANCER RISK"
Öztürk addressed the effects of smoking and alcohol on cancer, stating that 80% of lung cancers are caused by smoking. She pointed out that alcohol, in particular, increases the incidence of breast cancer. She also expressed that genetic factors play an important role in breast and ovarian cancers.
"COLONOSCOPY SHOULD BE DONE FROM THE AGE OF 45"
Emphasizing the importance of colonoscopy, Prof. Dr. Türkan Öztürk Topcu stated that everyone should have a colonoscopy starting from the age of 45. Öztürk also added that immunotherapies have fewer side effects compared to traditional chemotherapy.
