On February 6, following the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, the District Police Department teams initiated an investigation upon receiving reports that aid sent to the earthquake victims at the Azerbaijan-Turkey Temporary Shelter Center established in Türkoğlu district was being sold by the staff. ONE OF THEM IS A TEACHERAs part of the operation, 8 suspects were detained, including 1 teacher who is responsible for the shelter center and 4 staff members. After their procedures at the police station, 4 of the suspects were arrested, while 4 were released under judicial control. GOVERNORATE: 1.5 MILLION LIRA WORTH OF MATERIALS SEIZEDRegarding the operation, the Türkoğlu District Governorate also made a written statement. The statement included, "Upon receiving information that public goods were being stolen and sold from the Azerbaijan-Turkey Temporary Shelter Center, coordinated efforts were made with the provincial police department, resulting in operations initiated by the Türkoğlu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office; 2 unlicensed handguns, 1 unlicensed shotgun, and ammunition for these weapons, as well as a container, electronic goods, food, and living materials with an approximate value of 1.5 million TL were seized. Additionally, 8 individuals were captured during the operations, legal proceedings were initiated against them, 4 individuals were arrested, and 4 individuals were released under judicial control," the statement said.
