Operation against drugs at the headquarters of the National Unity Party.

According to the data from the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office of the Supreme Court, an operation was carried out by the Ankara Police Department's Narcotic Crimes Unit following a tip-off that drugs were being sold and used at the headquarters of the "National Unity Party," which was established on April 26, 2023, and has 163 members, located in the Yenimahalle district.

A LARGE NUMBER OF DRUGS FOUND

It was determined that M.G., one of the 7 individuals detained in the building, was a party member and that he and B.Y., who was with him, had obtained and used drugs within the headquarters building. A large number of drugs, packaged and ready for sale, were found during a search conducted on B.Y.

"THIS PLACE IS SAFE, POLICE CANNOT ENTER"

Five suspects who used drugs and were detained stated in their testimonies that M.G. and B.Y. provided them with drugs and invited them to the party building, claiming, "This place is safe, police cannot enter," thus facilitating drug use. It was learned that the suspects' procedures at the police station were ongoing.

Ebru Mert, the Mukhtar of Demetlale Neighborhood, stated that drug sales and use are widespread in their neighborhood. Mert advised the residents to report to the General Directorate of Security's drug combat application called "SLEEP."
