Details of the housing project that will enable police officers to become homeowners as if paying rent have begun to emerge. Under the project announced by Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi, 2,000 housing units will be built in Ankara in the first stage. While construction work is targeted to begin in May 2027, land searches have begun in 7 more provinces, including Istanbul and Izmir. The housing units will be designed in line with the demands of police officers.

The first step in the housing project that will enable police officers to become homeowners as if paying rent will be taken in Ankara. Within the scope of the project announced by Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi, the Police Care and Assistance Fund (POLSAN) conducted a survey to determine its members' housing needs and expectations.

2,000 RESIDENCES TO BE BUILT IN ANKARA

In the survey results, Ankara became the province most preferred by police officers for homeownership. Thereupon, drafting work began for the project, which will consist of 2,000 flats in the capital. Construction of the project is targeted to begin in May 2027.

LAND SEARCH BEGAN IN 8 PROVINCES

In the survey conducted by POLSAN, in addition to Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir, Antalya, Bursa, Adana, Samsun, and Konya were among the provinces with the highest housing demand. Work has been initiated for land procurement so that projects can be implemented in these 8 provinces.

It was stated that POLSAN continues its negotiations with the Housing Development Administration (TOKİ), the Social Security Institution (SGK), the Urban Transformation Directorate, and other relevant institutions regarding land purchase.

MINISTER ÇİFTÇİ: WE WILL EXPAND IT TO OTHER METROPOLITAN CITIES

Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi had previously announced on a television program he attended that they had launched work to enable police officers to become homeowners with long-term payment conditions, as if paying rent.

Çiftçi had used the following statements regarding the project: "We will probably lay its foundation in the coming months. As of 2027, we will later expand this work, which we started in Ankara, to Istanbul, Izmir, and other major cities."

THE RESIDENCES WILL BE DESIGNED ACCORDING TO POLICE OFFICERS' REQUESTS

In the survey conducted to determine the details of the project, police officers were also asked about their preferred flat sizes and the social areas they want within the complex. In the survey results, security service, children's playgrounds, landscaping arrangements, and sports areas stood out.

It was stated that POLSAN aims to shape its housing projects in line with these requests and create living spaces suitable for the needs of police officers and their families.
