CHP Chairman Özgür Özel made evaluations regarding the agenda at his party's group meeting. Özel reacted to the detention of Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat early yesterday morning as part of a "corruption" investigation and made a striking claim. Stating that the government is trying to create an artificial agenda to prevent the realities of the country from being discussed with the operation that led to Rıza Akpolat's detention, Özel said he would continue to speak the truth. Speaking in the hall where "red cards" were distributed before the meeting, Özel said, "With the Beşiktaş operation, they asked, 'Can we cover up these price increases and the cost of living issues? Can we pull CHP into the agenda we want and ensure that the suffering we inflict on the citizens is talked about less?'" Bringing up the corruption allegations at the Yunus Emre Foundation, Özel stated, "There is a foundation headed by Minister Ersoy that operates in 66 countries. Corruption allegations have come to the fore. Before the criminal complaint, the president of the foundation fled. Şeref Ateş, the AKP's puppet, fled abroad. The wife of the Family Minister, Rahmi Göktaş, and MHP's Abdullah Kutalmış Yalçın resigned and fled. No one is talking about the minister's wife or Semih Yalçın's son," he said. Özel stated that he would send the documents he brought to his party's group meeting to MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli.
