During the tension that occurred during the police intervention at the CHP Headquarters, an evacuation notice was delivered to CHP Chairman Özgür Özel. Tearing the notice, Özel stated in his speech in front of the party building that the CHP would now be "in the streets and squares." Starting a march to the Parliament, Özel greeted citizens who supported him along the way and approached a bride and groom he encountered in traffic to congratulate them.
Since the early hours of the morning, the rising tension in Ankara peaked with the police intervention at the CHP headquarters. The party building was entered under heavy tear gas, and doors were broken. During the intervention, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, who was inside the party building, tore up the evacuation notice delivered to him.
Speaking in front of cameras in the party building's garden, Özel said, "I say to the wretched apparatuses of the government, from now on CHP is on the road, on the streets, in the squares, marching towards power. Are you with me to march to power? We are marching to the Parliament. No stopping from now on. Let the losers stay behind."
