Özgür Özel made striking statements regarding the congress debates within CHP and the ongoing "absolute nullity" issue. Describing his meetings with Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who returned to the CHP chairmanship by court decision, Özel said, "No matter what suggestion I made, he said, 'I don't know, let me ask the lawyers.'"
Özgür Özel, who was removed from his position as CHP Chairman by a court decision, responded to questions about his roadmap and his meeting with Kılıçdaroğlu in the provinces.
Answering questions from Deniz Zeyrek of Nefes, Özel stated that they do not want to explain what will be done starting Monday and what their roadmap is, saying: "We are explaining what we will do. Those giving advice to the clique are immediately taking precautions. We said we would gather the group. They wanted to take precautions immediately. We will hold a large group meeting on Tuesday."
"WE CAN ALSO CONVENE THE PM"
Reminding that the court's precautionary decision does not restrict everything, Özel continued as follows:
"Those giving advice to the clique are pushing the law to its limits. The clique sees themselves as the President during the state of emergency. They think they can do whatever they want and prevent what they don't want. It is not true that the court's precautionary decision limits everything, but they act as if it does. They say they postponed the PM meeting. However, we can also convene the PM. The signatures of 12 members are sufficient to convene the PM."
"WHENEVER I MAKE A SUGGESTION, HE SAYS 'I DON'T KNOW'"
Speaking about his meetings with Kılıçdaroğlu, Özel said:
"Whatever I say to Kemal Bey, he says 'I don't know,' 'yes,' 'okay.' He says there is a precaution, we cannot hold the convention... I say, 'Let's withdraw the appeals to the Court of Cassation, let the decision become final, and let's hold the convention immediately.' He says, 'I don't know, let me ask the lawyers.' Whenever I make a suggestion, he says, 'I don't know, I am not a lawyer.' He says, 'Write down your suggestions, let me ask the lawyers.' I don't understand how they try to continue this despite all the reaction."
