The leader of the CHP, Özgür Özel, stated that his party will give more representation to women who wear headscarves in the new term, expressing that there will definitely be headscarf-wearing members of parliament in the future CHP parliamentary group.
Under the leadership of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the headscarf initiative in the CHP is being taken to a new level with the new Chairman Özgür Özel. The messages Özel brought up during his visit to the Karar newspaper showed that the inclusivity policy within the party continues.

Evaluating the political agenda, Özel recalled that he participated in protests against the headscarf ban during his university years. Stating that the CHP now follows a more inclusive line, Özel emphasized that they attach special importance to the representation of women wearing headscarves in the political arena.

Özel emphasized that there is no negative approach regarding headscarves within the CHP base, saying, "The CHP members of my generation have no problem with headscarves. If you look at the voters on the street and the organizations, our members wearing headscarves are no longer few. We have headscarf-wearing voters and members in places, times, and situations you would never expect. It's getting better," he said.

Özel stated that there will definitely be headscarf-wearing members of parliament in the future CHP parliamentary group, expressing that this is both a natural result and a part of the inclusive approach in the party's policies, saying, "There will definitely be headscarf-wearing MPs in the future CHP group."
