Palestinian Girl Dies Of Wounds From Israeli Offensive On Gaza

A 10-year-old Palestinian girl died on Thursday of her injuries from a recent Israeli offensive on the blockaded Gaza Strip, the Palestinian Red Crescent said.

"Our crews are working to transport the body of Lian Al-Shaer after she died of wounds she sustained during the recent aggression on Gaza," the NGO said in a statement.

Al-Shaer and another two children were transferred two days earlier to Al-Makassed Hospital in Jerusalem for medical attention via Erez crossing by a Red Crescent crew.

She arrived at the hospital on Tuesday in a state of clinical death, as a result of shrapnel injuries in her head from an Israeli missile, Al-Makassed Hospital said in a statement carried by the official Wafa news agency.

Her death brought the toll from the Israeli offensive on Gaza to 48 and 360 other injuries.

The Israeli attacks came to a halt late Sunday under an Egyptian-brokered cease-fire.
