Palestinian Youths Slam So-Called Mideast Peace Plan

31.01.2020 02:26

Demonstrators take to streets to denounce Trump's controversial deal.

Young Palestinians in the Gaza Strip rallied Thursday against U.S. President Donald Trump's so-called Middle East peace plan.

Nebil Diyab, a member of the Palestinian National Initiative Movement, told Anadolu Agency that the so-called "Deal of the Century" would not be enforced.

"We are here to announce our commitment to the unchanging values of Palestine and the rejection of the so-called peace agreement," Diyab said.

One of the demonstrators, Hilal Farac, 13, said they were holding the rally to denounce the plan.

"Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Palestine. We will never recognize Israel," he added.

On Tuesday, Trump released his much-hyped plan to end the Israeli-Palestinian dispute during a press conference at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu by his side.

There was, however, no Palestinian representative at the announcement, which saw Trump referring to Jerusalem as "Israel's undivided capital".

Trump's so-called peace plan unilaterally annuls previous UN resolutions on the Palestinian issue and has drawn criticism for giving Israel almost everything it demanded. -
