A male student named M.Y. caused panic by entering the dormitory by climbing over the fences. A male student named M.Y. entered the Binali Yıldırım Girls' Dormitory at Sivas Cumhuriyet University last night. M.Y., who allegedly entered the girls' dormitory by climbing over the fences, fled upon the reaction of the female students on campus. Following detailed investigations by the Provincial Police Department's Public Order Branch, M.Y. was apprehended, and legal action was initiated against him. STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR OF SIVASIn a statement made by the Sivas Governorate regarding the incident, it was stated, "On Saturday, October 5, around 22:30, our police teams immediately began working upon receiving a report of a suspicious male individual seen within the Binali Yıldırım KYK campus in the center of our city. All camera recordings within and around the campus were reviewed, and during the investigation, it was determined that a suspicious male individual entered the dormitory premises by damaging the fences from the area at the back and was seen wandering in the garden area while talking on the phone. It was later confirmed that the individual fled around 22:50, before the private security personnel arrived, after being noticed by students. Through interviews and investigations, it was understood that the suspect had no contact with any students inside, and no complaints or grievances have been reported so far. Following detailed investigations by the Provincial Police Department's Public Order Branch, the individual named M.Y. was apprehended, and necessary actions have been initiated against him. Our law enforcement units will continue to be on duty 24/7, as always, to ensure the peace and safety of our students, who are entrusted to us by their families," the statement concluded.
