Peruvian National Football Player Christian Cueva has been suspended from the team for domestic violence against his spouse.

The 32-year-old Peruvian player's wife claimed on a TV program that Cueva had 'choked' and 'suffocated' her. Lopez said, "I am afraid for my life. I have suffered for years."

Cueva denied the 'violence accusations' but admitted that his behavior was 'unacceptable'. Club Cienciano announced that they have permanently removed Cueva from the club after an internal investigation.
