UK-based pharmaceutical company GSK has agreed to acquire US biopharma company Nuvalent, which includes products for lung cancer treatment, for $10.6 billion.

GSK, a UK-based multinational pharmaceutical company, has announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire US-based Nuvalent for $10.6 billion.

According to a statement from the company, GSK is acquiring Nuvalent, a Boston-based, clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing precisely targeted oncology treatments.

$10.6 BILLION DEAL

The deal, valued at $10.6 billion, includes three products targeting lung cancer as part of a single transaction. When subtracting the acquired cash assets, GSK's total investment is calculated to be $9.4 billion.

The acquisition is expected to contribute to GSK's revenue growth starting in 2027 and support the group's sales target of over £40 billion by 2031.

With the acquisition, which is expected to receive approval from the US Food and Drug Administration this year, GSK aims to accelerate its entry into the lung cancer treatment field.
