Hundreds of citizens in Karapınar district of Konya, one of the driest regions of Turkey, performed a prayer of gratitude following the recent abundant rainfall. Gathering together, hundreds of citizens listened to the recitation of the Quran and hymns, offered prayers, and performed a collective prayer of thanks. After the gratitude prayer, traditional treats were served to the participants.

HUNDREDS OF CITIZENS ATTENDED
Hundreds of citizens gathered at Yassıca Location, listened to the recitation of the Quran and hymns, offered prayers, and performed a collective prayer of gratitude. Following the prayer of gratitude, traditional treats were served to the participants. The event was also attended by Karapınar Mayor İbrahim Önal.
“WE MUST NOT WASTE WATER AND USE IT SPARINGLY”
Religious official Mustafa Kabakçı said in his speech, 'If we want our lives to be bountiful, we must perform deeds in accordance with our Lord's approval. We must not waste water and use it sparingly.' Religious official Sezer Taşdemir also highlighted social peace and brotherhood in his sermon.
Citizens stated that they welcomed the blessing of rain with gratitude, that such events strengthen both spiritual and social solidarity, and that they gave thanks for the mercy that had fallen.
