MHP Konya Deputy Konur Alp Koçak submitted a bill to the Presidency of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey that allows qualified personnel working in the defense and aviation industry to obtain a special stamped (green) passport under certain conditions.
PROPOSAL FOR AMENDMENT TO THE PASSPORT LAW
Nationalist Movement Party Konya Deputy and Member of the National Defense Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Konur Alp Koçak, submitted a bill proposing amendments to the Passport Law No. 5682 to the Presidency of the Grand National Assembly. The proposal aims to enable qualified personnel working in the defense and aviation industry to obtain a green passport if they meet certain criteria.
GREEN PASSPORT FOR DEFENSE INDUSTRY PERSONNEL
According to the proposal, it is anticipated that personnel working in companies affiliated with the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, as well as engineers, specialists, and managers working as main contractors or system integrators in strategic defense projects conducted on behalf of the state, will be able to obtain a green passport. This aims to facilitate the international activities of qualified personnel working in the defense and aviation sectors.
15-YEAR SENIORITY REQUIREMENT
The regulation is planned to cover engineers, specialists, and senior executives with at least 15 years of seniority. If the proposal becomes law, it aims to provide significant ease for experienced personnel working in the defense and aviation sector during their international travels. Koçak stated in a social media post that the successes in the defense industry give confidence and pride to Turkey, expressing that engineers and specialists working in this field work with great dedication. Koçak stated, "Every investment made in national defense is an investment in Turkey's independence and future."
