President Erdoğan gave good news to the disabled teachers who are waiting for appointments after the Cabinet meeting. Erdoğan stated, "God willing, we will carry out the appointments of 1,381 disabled teachers on Wednesday."

The Presidential Cabinet Meeting has concluded. After the meeting, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made critical statements in front of the cameras. President Erdoğan gave good news to the disabled teachers waiting for appointments. Erdoğan said, "God willing, we will appoint 1381 disabled teachers on Wednesday."

Key points from President Erdoğan's statements are as follows: "On April 17, we launched the excavation of the Silvan Irrigation Canal, one of our country's most strategic projects in agriculture, with a live connection. The Silvan Tunnel is a magnificent work that will change the fate of the region. It will be the largest irrigation tunnel in our country with an excavation diameter of 11.2 meters.

We witnessed the excitement of the graduation and badge ceremony of our 2,094 commando expert non-commissioned officers. I thank each member of the sacred army who selflessly serves both at home and abroad, and I kiss the eyes of our Mehmetçiks one by one.

Turkey's support for the Palestinian cause is well known throughout the world. Those who labeled the Palestinian resistance as terrorism until yesterday cannot undermine our government's policy towards Palestine. The glorious struggle of the oppressed people of Gaza is a fight too pure to be exploited by corruption allegations.

"THERE IS NO PLACE TO BE REACHED BY LEAVING PEOPLE HUNGRY, THIRSTY, AND WITHOUT MEDICINE"

Just like East Jerusalem and the West Bank, Gaza also belongs to the Palestinian people. The Palestinian people have repeatedly shown that they will not surrender, will not leave their homeland, and will not bow to the oppressor, despite all impossibilities and barbarities. For 18 months, Gaza has been the scene of the most brutal massacres of the last century, as well as epic resistance.

It should now be seen that there is no place to be reached by leaving people hungry, thirsty, and without medicine. This is what we want. We are fighting for this. Everything we say is for the peaceful coexistence, security, and harmony of all peoples in our region.

We held the opening of the 3rd International Yeditepe Biennial. The 5th Ordinary General Assembly of KADEM highlighted the importance we place on women's rights and the family institution. During this process, we are also taking steps to compensate for the problems caused by past erroneous policies and bringing projects to life.

Turkey has reached a critical juncture in terms of population growth rate. The opposition may not care about this, and they may want to dilute it with absurd arguments. The population issue is gradually turning into a survival problem. Our fertility rate, which has dropped to 1.51, clearly reveals the threat and danger. No government can remain indifferent to this, nor can it close its eyes to this danger.

"WE EMPHASIZE AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY THAT WE DO NOT WANT NEW CONFLICTS"

One of the areas where we have brought Turkey to a position that is pointed at is satellite technologies. Our space adventure, which started 31 years ago with TÜRKSAT 1B, has reached a different level with TÜRKSAT 6A. I wish TÜRKSAT 6A, which has an over 80% domestic production rate, all the best.

As Turkey, we emphasize at every opportunity that we do not want new conflicts in our region and beyond. We hope that the escalating tension between Pakistan and India will be reduced as soon as possible before it escalates to more serious dimensions. We participated in the Climate and Just Transition Leaders' Meeting held online on April 23. On the same day, we had the joy of hosting hundreds of children at our complex due to the TRT 47th International Children's Festival.

UEFA has opened its first representation office in Turkey after London and Brussels. I believe that the preparation processes for the 2026 UEFA Europa League, the 2027 UEFA Europa Conference League finals, and the European Football Championship will be much easier. I wish success to our Trabzonspor U19 team, which has reached the finals, in their match against Barcelona U19 this evening.

"I SHARE THE PAIN OF THE IRANIAN PEOPLE FROM THE HEART"

I sincerely share the pain of the Iranian people regarding the explosion that resulted in many deaths and injuries, and I wish them a speedy recovery. God willing, we will go to Italy tomorrow for the 4th Intergovernmental Summit Meeting between Turkey and Italy. We will also be in the TRNC over the weekend to inaugurate completed projects and share the excitement of our youth at TEKNOFEST.

The earthquake that occurred in Istanbul on April 23 deeply affected and worried us all. I once again wish a speedy recovery to all my citizens affected by the earthquake. Thank God we did not have any loss of life or any injured brothers due to the earthquake. Only our brothers who were panicked suffered minor injuries. The earthquake, which occurred approximately 7 kilometers underground, lasted for 13 seconds. Following that, a total of 487 aftershocks of magnitude 5.9 were experienced. Yesterday, Elazığ was also shaken by an earthquake of 4.9 magnitude. I extend my best wishes to the people of Elazığ.

CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY IN SAMSUN

I pray for God's mercy on our two children and their father who lost their lives in the landslide in the Canik district of Samsun. In addition to AFAD's 148 vehicles and 650 personnel, 373 vehicles from other units were mobilized. A total of 11,481 search and rescue personnel and 903 vehicles were put on standby. We kept our 27 regional warehouses and 54 mobile depots across the country ready for needs.

Our Red Crescent has assigned 2,925 volunteers. They distributed hot soup and food packages to our citizens at 350 points. Three aircraft belonging to Baykar, one to the gendarmerie, and two to our police have taken off to conduct observations.

THE EARTHQUAKE IN ISTANBUL

Except for the excessive density that occurred in the first hours, no communication disruptions have been detected. In addition to our 13 district municipalities, our metropolitan municipalities of Sakarya, Konya, and Kocaeli were also by the side of the people of Istanbul. Despite all attempts to obstruct, we reached 1.2 million of our citizens during this process. Our urban parks provided services to our citizens who hesitated to return home due to the shock they experienced on the night of the earthquake. Our Ministry of Environment quickly began damage assessment studies based on the reports received from our citizens.

According to this, it was determined that 1,903 buildings and 28,254 independent sections were slightly damaged. Thank God, no problems were found in the other buildings that were examined. Other ministries have also supported the citizens of Istanbul with the spirit of mobilization.

We have seen how the opposition has failed. Until today, we have acted with patience and dignity. We have made an effort not to engage in polemics with anyone. Since Wednesday, we have been subjected to such slanders that believe me, it is impossible to remain silent about them. As we remain silent, our counterparts use a reckless and irresponsible language.

The chairman of the main opposition party, who has twisted our earthquake efforts into a joke, could only remember the way to Istanbul 5 days later. While the people of Istanbul are trying to recover from the shock of the earthquake, the esteemed chairman held a rally. He did not take any steps to show that he cares about Istanbul's troubles. He came to Istanbul to shoot a video regarding the new scandals that emerged from the corruption investigation. This means being completely disconnected from the agenda of this nation. Despite all our friendly warnings, no lessons are being learned from the mistakes that offend our people. I want to express that we are saddened on behalf of our country about this. I believe that our nation sees and notes these things.

"I WILL SHARE THE DETAILS OF OUR URBAN TRANSFORMATION WORK ON WEDNESDAY"

We met with our citizens who are staying at the Has Bahçe social facilities in Kağıthane and conveyed our wishes for a speedy recovery to them. For the past 23 years, we have been in a great struggle to prepare our cities for earthquakes. It is well known how hard our district municipalities and TOKİ have been working. I will share the details of our urban transformation efforts with our nation at our party's group meeting on Wednesday. If we had succumbed to the pressures of the opposition and marginal groups on this issue, we would have faced much more painful incidents. We have acted decisively to implement whatever is necessary for the safety and peace of our nation.

I am addressing those who are trying to darken the housing dreams of our low-income citizens; I apologize, but Istanbul is not a city to be sacrificed for your ambitions. The negligence, laxity, and indifference towards Istanbul, especially in urban transformation projects, have no luxury for the whims of marginal groups. Regardless of our position, our duty is to prepare our city for earthquakes as soon as possible before disaster knocks on our door.

APPOINTMENT OF DISABLED TEACHERS

We should use our energy not to wear each other down but to quickly address our shortcomings. Today, we extend our hand to everyone once again. Let’s come together shoulder to shoulder and work together to make our cities earthquake-resistant. Let’s keep the issues related to preparedness for natural disasters outside of daily politics and temporary discussions. We expect the opposition to behave with sound judgment and foresight, prioritizing the interests of the country, the nation, and the people of Istanbul.
