Arriving at the Museum of Modern Art, where the summit is being held, President Erdoğan was welcomed by Brazilian President Lula da Silva, who is hosting the G20. Lula da Silva and Erdoğan shook hands, took a commemorative photo, and chatted.

The G20 Leaders Summit began in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with the theme "Building a Fair World and a Sustainable Planet."

Later, the leaders will address participants in the session on Social Inclusion and the Fight Against Hunger and Poverty.

As part of the summit, the leaders of the advisory and coordination platform MIKTA, which includes Mexico, Indonesia, South Korea, Turkey, and Australia, will also come together.

On the first day of the summit, the leaders will also participate in the session on Reforming Global Governance Institutions.

On the second day of the summit, the session on Sustainable Development and Energy Transition will be held. After the closing session, Brazil will hand over the presidency to South Africa.

Moreover, it is expected that the leaders attending the summit will hold bilateral meetings with their counterparts to evaluate country relations and crisis regions.

TURKEY WILL BE IN THE SPOTLIGHT OF THE SUMMIT

Turkey has high-level trade relations with G20 countries. Nearly $100 billion in exports are made to member countries. Turkey increased its exports to G20 countries by approximately 37% during the 2019-2023 period. Exports increased to 16 of the 18 G20 member countries during this period.

The goal at the summit is to further develop trade relations. In this context, President Erdoğan will explain the roadmap for the economy to the world during his bilateral meetings.

President Erdoğan will share Turkey's commercial potential with his counterparts. New investments and collaborations will be evaluated. Work in the energy sector will also be discussed. Green transformation and sustainability efforts will be at the center of the summit.
