President Erdoğan's personal doctor criticized private hospitals.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's personal doctor, Prof. Dr. Cevdet Erdöl, made a striking statement regarding the newborn gang scandal that led to the death of 12 babies.

"DOCTORS ARE TRANSFERRED WITH HIGH SALARIES"

Erdöl stated that private hospitals transfer doctors with high salaries, saying, "The private sector transfers qualified physicians from public hospitals with high salaries and attractive opportunities. Although this situation is masked by the claims that 'doctors are going abroad,' the real issue is that it is fed by the profit motive of private hospitals."

"PRIVATE HOSPITALS ARE A BURDEN ON THE PUBLIC"

Continuing his statement, Erdöl said, "These transfers, which empty out public hospitals, are dominated by the rising difference fees of the private sector." He continued: "It is vital for public health that private hospitals are relieved of their burden on the public. To prevent the painful incidents occurring in neonatal intensive care units from happening again, our healthcare system must be freed from commercial concerns. Strengthening the public health system is the only way to ensure social justice."
