President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made statements following the Cabinet Meeting. In part of his statements, Erdoğan referred to the developments in Syria and signaled an operation against the PKK/YPG terrorist organization. Erdoğan said, "The noose is tightening for the terrorist organization. The PKK will either dissolve itself or be dissolved. As the poet said, maybe tomorrow, maybe even closer than tomorrow."
Erdoğan's statements regarding the issue are as follows:
"WE ARE IN CLOSE DIALOGUE WITH AHMED ESH SHARA"
"The fall of Damascus on December 8 marked the beginning of a new era in Syria with Assad's escape. As a neighboring and brotherly country of Syria, we are in the best position to understand the process. From the very first moment of the Syrian crisis, we have stood on the right side of history. Our greatest test during this process has been to shield ourselves against the vile campaign conducted during the election period. We are in close dialogue with the leader of the Syrian Revolution, Esh Shara. First, our MIT President visited. Then we activated our embassy. Our visits will continue to increase from now on. The hardest days are now behind us. I am confident that our Syrian brothers, who have put an end to 61 years of Baath darkness, will rebuild their country. We value the messages given by the new administration. Israel will eventually have to withdraw from the lands it has occupied; it will be compelled to do so. The only outcome of shedding more blood is unrest.
"TIME IS RUNNING OUT FOR PKK AND ITS EXTENSIONS, THE NOOSE IS TIGHTENING"
If there is state wisdom in Israel, the more effectively they comprehend this, the better it will be. We will definitely remove these murderous hordes that oppress our Kurdish brothers from being a source of threat to our region. We are determined to continue our pinpoint operations with surgical precision. Time is running out for the PKK and its extensions, the noose is tightening. The end of the road is in sight. Whoever acts as a trigger for them should know that they cannot escape the painful fate that awaits them. As the poet said, maybe tomorrow, maybe even closer than tomorrow. We will get rid of this plague."
