President Recep Tayyip Erdogan visited the Seljuk cemetery in Ahlat district of Bitlis. President Erdogan, who came to Ahlat for the 953rd anniversary of the Battle of Malazgirt, visited the Seljuk cemetery, which is one of the largest Turkish Islamic cemeteries in the UNESCO World Heritage Temporary List. President Erdogan was accompanied by Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahceli, BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici, HUDA PAR Chairman Zekeriya Yapicioglu, members of the Presidential Cabinet, Air Force Commander Ziya Cemal Kadioglu, and Naval Forces Commander Admiral Ercument Tatlioglu. During the visit, Ali Erbas, the President of Religious Affairs, recited a prayer. MEETING WITH BAHCELIPresident Erdogan also met with MHP Chairman Devlet Bahceli after the cemetery visit. The meeting at Bahceli's residence in Ahlat was closed to the press. OPENING OF AHLAT COMMANDO BATTALIONPresident Erdogan also attended the opening of the Ahlat Commando Battalion. Upon his arrival at the Battalion Command, Erdogan saluted the ceremonial squad and signed the special book. President Erdogan, along with others, cut the ribbon and performed the opening. Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahceli, Minister of National Defense Yasar Guler, and Ali Erbas, the President of Religious Affairs, as well as the force commanders, also attended the opening.
