Following the Deposit Management System (DMS), which came into effect across Turkey as of July 1, 2026, prices of bottled water and mineral water have increased. After the price hikes, the Ministry of Trade took action. The Ministry announced that inspections have been launched targeting manufacturers, suppliers, and retail outlets for beverage products, especially bottled water.

1 TL PAYMENT IS MADE
In the system implemented for recycling purposes, 1 lira is paid for each returned bottle, and citizens' interest in the application has been intense.
IMMEDIATE PRICE HIKE FROM WATER COMPANIES
A new one has been added to the price increases on market shelves. With the new regulation, the prices of packaged water and mineral water have increased significantly.
MINISTRY OF TRADE LAUNCHES INVESTIGATION
In a statement made by the Ministry of Trade, it was said: "Inspections have been initiated against manufacturers, suppliers, and retail points, especially for packaged water and beverage products. Any price increase that exceeds the cost increase and victimizes consumers will be considered under unfair pricing, and necessary administrative sanctions will be firmly applied."
"7 MILLION 600 THOUSAND BOTTLES COLLECTED IN 5 DAYS WITH DMS"
Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum announced that since July 1, citizens have returned 7 million 600 thousand beverage packages to DMS machines. The number of registered users in the system has also exceeded 1.3 million. Speaking at the Beykoz Municipality Title Deed Distribution Ceremony in Istanbul, Kurum said, "We collected 7 million 600 thousand packages in just 5 days. Hopefully, when this system is fully established, this number will reach 25 billion packages annually, providing an annual gain of 30 billion lira to our economy."
