Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor Mehmet Çağlayan shared a support message for the lieutenants holding a sword oath ceremony at the Military Academy on his social media account. Prosecutor Çağlayan was suspended by the Judges and Prosecutors Council (HSK).

PROSECUTOR ÇAĞLAYAN: THEY NEITHER ACTED AGAINST THE LAW NOR DISRESPECTED

In his social media post, Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor Mehmet Çağlayan stated, "All soldiers are soldiers of Atatürk. Our lieutenants who shouted this at the oath ceremony neither acted against the law nor disrespected. Even the acceptance of a warning penalty is not possible. If there are council members who are pressured to impose a penalty, they should resign by sharing this." According to NOW Tv's news, prosecutor Mehmet Çağlayan was suspended by the HSK.

DISMISSAL OF LIEUTENANTS IS REQUESTED

After the graduation ceremony of the Military Academy, five lieutenants, including Ebru Eroğlu, the top graduate of the Military Academy who chanted the slogan "We are soldiers of Mustafa Kemal," were referred to the High Disciplinary Board with a request for dismissal from the army. In a statement made a few days ago, the Ministry of National Defense stated that the reason for the investigation was not the slogan "We are soldiers of Mustafa Kemal," but that the lieutenants disrupted the chain of command by taking the sword oath despite being rejected seven times before the ceremony.

COMMANDERS REMOVED FROM DUTY

A disciplinary investigation was initiated against the Deputy Regiment Commander, the Battalion Commander, and the Company Commander who were on duty during the graduation ceremony for not taking necessary precautions before the ceremony and not intervening during the action. The Battalion Commander of the Artillery School, Major S.İ., was removed from duty yesterday, and the farewell message of the dismissed major drew attention.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who personally attended the graduation ceremony and presented plaques to the top graduates of the military academy, stated in September regarding the issue, "Who are you drawing swords at? All necessary investigations are being conducted regarding this. A few ignorant individuals there will also be cleaned out. It is not possible for them to be in our army, no matter how many they are."
