The 9th ordinary grand congress of the Saadet Party started today at 10:00 AM at the Ankara Sports Hall. Three names participated in the race for the presidency. Before the congress, the party's high advisory board designated Kayseri Deputy Mahmut Arıkan as the presidential candidate. After the decision of the advisory board, Istanbul Deputy Birol Aydın and former Chairman Mustafa Kamalak also announced their candidacies. THE RACE FOR THE PRESIDENCY CONTINUESAccording to the Saadet Party's Statute, to be eligible to run for the presidency, a candidate must be nominated by at least fifteen percent of the total number of delegates at the grand congress. This means that each candidate must obtain the signatures of approximately 200 delegates to be eligible.
