"Publication ban imposed on news about child sexual abuse by a person of Syrian nationality."

The Kayseri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has imposed a publication ban on the sexual abuse of a 7-year-old child and the subsequent incidents in the city. Restriction orders have also been issued regarding the investigation file.

SEXUAL ABUSE AGAINST A 7-YEAR-OLD NIECE

An incident occurred in the toilet of the market in Danişmentgazi neighborhood of Melikgazi district, where a Syrian national, I.A. (26), allegedly sexually abused his 7-year-old niece, M.A. who is also Syrian. The Kayseri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has initiated an investigation into the events that followed.

PUBLICATION BAN UNTIL THE COMPLETION OF THE INVESTIGATION

In this context, the Kayseri 2nd Criminal Peace Court has decided to ban all kinds of news, interviews, criticisms, and similar publications in visual and social media as well as the internet, which include the incidents and the images of the victim child, in order to protect the health of the victim and her family and to prevent further social incidents until the completion of the investigation.

RESTRICTION ORDER REGARDING THE FILE

The Kayseri Governorship had announced that a Syrian national had been detained in connection with the sexual abuse incident in Danişmentgazi neighborhood and that the child had been placed under protection. Following the abuse allegation, 14 police officers and 1 firefighter were injured in the incidents that occurred in the city.
