Qatar, Egypt Agree On Several Bilateral Issues

15.09.2021 00:12

Qatar Egypt Follow up Committee convened in Doha for its 7th meeting to settle issues between 2 countries.

Qatar and Egypt on Tuesday announced reaching agreements on several bilateral issues following an official meeting in the Qatari capital Doha.

The Qatari Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the Qatar-Egypt Follow-up Committee convened in Doha for its seventh meeting to settle issues between the two countries.

The meeting was co-chaired by Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Regional Affairs Ali bin Fahad al-Hajiri and Egypt's Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab Affairs Yasser Othman.

The statement added that the countries agreed on several issues and also signed bilateral agreements to strengthen bilateral ties.

Aviation and postal service authorities of both countries signed memorandums of understanding to exchange services and cooperation.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said the meeting also aimed "to complement the track of strengthening ties and to work for pushing forward their bilateral relations."

On Aug. 28, Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani met Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in Iraq's capital Baghdad on the margins of an international summit.

In June, Egypt and Qatar announced the appointment of extraordinary ambassadors to both countries, as part of the resumption of relations between them following the Al-Ula Summit and the Gulf reconciliation agreement in January this year.

The Egypt-Qatar relations witnessed positive steps after signing Al-Ula Declaration in Saudi Arabia, which brought down the curtain on the Gulf crisis.
