Qatari Foreign Ministry Khalid bin Mohamed Al-Attiyah and his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu discussed Monday on phone the latest developments in the Gaza Strip which has been reeling under a crippling Israeli onslaught over the past two weeks.
"During the call, the two officials discussed the latest developments of the situation in Gaza and means to end the Israeli aggression," Qatar's official QNA news agency reported.
The conversation is the second between the two top diplomats within four days.
Since July 7, Israel has pounded the embattled coastal enclave with fierce air and naval bombardments with the stated aim of halting Palestinian rocket fire.
On Thursday night, Israel stepped up its offensive to include ground operations, sending thousands of troops into the embattled Palestinian territory.
At least 577 Palestinians have been killed – mostly civilians – and more than 3550 injured in the unrelenting Israeli attacks on the besieged coastal enclave.
