Fearful moments were experienced in Bozdoğan district of Aydın as the fire, which has been ongoing for hours, continues to be intervened. Volunteers and journalists narrowly escaped being trapped among the flames due to the sudden change in direction of the wind.

FIRE STARTED IN THE EVENING HOURS

The fire occurred in the Alhisar neighborhood around 16.45 in a forested area. According to the information received, citizens who noticed the flames rising from the area reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the notification, Aydın Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department and Muğla Forest Regional Directorate teams were dispatched. The teams arrived at the scene quickly and intervened in the flames on land.

CITIZENS EVACUATED

With the effect of the wind, the flames spread rapidly over a wide area, and 3 helicopters and 2 planes provided aerial support to the fire extinguishing efforts with their sorties. With the darkness of the night, ground teams and night vision helicopters continued to intervene in the flames. 45 citizens were evacuated from the area due to the approaching of the fire to the Örmepınar neighborhood.

NARROWLY ESCAPED AMONG THE FLAMES

Meanwhile, journalists who documented the intervention to the flames on both sides of the road and volunteers who supported the extinguishing efforts experienced difficult moments due to the flames suddenly changing direction due to the wind.
