Republicans in the United States have taken action to remove Biden from office.

Republican Chip Roy, a member of the House of Representatives in the United States, announced that he is preparing a bill for Vice President Kamala Harris to invoke the 25th Amendment of the Constitution to remove President Joe Biden.

In a post on social media platform X, Roy stated that Biden will be called to be removed from office because he "failed to fulfill the duties and powers of the presidency".

BILL TO BE INTRODUCED FOR BIDEN'S REMOVAL

Roy, urging Harris to exercise her powers in accordance with the additional amendment of the constitution, stated, "I am considering introducing a bill that calls for the Vice President to immediately exercise her powers under the 4th sub-article of the 25th amendment, taking over the principal duties of the cabinet, as the President (Biden) has failed to fulfill his authority and duties successfully."

IF PASSED IN CONGRESS, HARRIS WILL HAVE 24 HOURS TO DECIDE

If the bill is brought to the agenda and passed with a "yes" vote in the House of Representatives, where Republicans have the majority, Harris will be given 24 hours to convey her response to Congress regarding the removal of Biden from office.

WHAT DOES THE 25TH AMENDMENT OF THE US CONSTITUTION SAY?

The 25th amendment of the US Constitution regulates the process of temporarily removing a US president and having the vice president take over if it is determined that the president is unable to fulfill his duties. For the amendment to be applied, the decision to remove the president must be supported by a simple majority of the cabinet members, with Harris making the final decision.
