Response to Hilmi Türkmen's 'real estate sales' allegations from Üsküdar Municipality.

In the local elections on March 31, Üsküdar Municipality, which passed to the management of the CHP, came to the agenda with the land and apartments put up for sale on an advertisement site.

Former Üsküdar Mayor Hilmi Türkmen shared his thoughts with the words "Municipality for sale by owner" and said, "I wanted to share this especially for you to know the real face of the CHP, which has been strongly opposed to even the smallest real estate sales for 20 years in Üsküdar. MUNICIPALITY FOR SALE BY OWNER! We produced these houses and sold them piece by piece in 5 years to balance our budget. We received the lands in return for our real estate. We said we would use them when the time comes, when needed. The new administration certainly has the right and authority to sell these properties. However, the fact that the CHP, which strongly opposes even the smallest real estate sales, makes a sale that we did not make in 5 years at once, shows the real face of the CHP."

"WE HANDED OVER THE MANAGEMENT AS THE SECOND MUNICIPALITY WITH THE LEAST DEBT"

Hilmi Türkmen's statement regarding the issue is as follows; "There is a very serious sale. Where is the CHP media that creates a fuss over the smallest thing? Moreover, the income to be obtained from such an amount of real estate sales exceeds the debt remaining from concrete services and the production of works in the past period by 3-4 times. Then we ask, what's the rush! As Üsküdar Municipality, we have produced hundreds of services and works that cannot be denied. Nevertheless, we handed over the management as the second municipality with the least debt in terms of budget size and debt balance."

"WHAT'S THE RUSH?"

I ask again, what's the rush then? Is the first solution that comes to mind to sell all the real estate in this way? Also, what services will be provided, what new works will be offered to the public with the income to be obtained while making real estate sales that were not made in 5 years at once. Please follow this, dear fellow citizens. Our concern is not to beat the vineyard keeper, we also know how to applaud if good things happen, but we want our people to see, know, and recognize some things up close."

RESPONSE FROM ÜSKÜDAR MUNICIPALITY TO TÜRKMEN WAS NOT DELAYED

Üsküdar Municipality did not delay its response to former Mayor Hilmi Türkmen's "real estate sales" allegations. In the written statement made by the municipality, it was stated that "the shares on social media claiming that Üsküdar Municipality sold its real estate are completely an effort to create perception. The housing projects were made and the income from the sales was added to the 2024 budget 'to be sold' during the term of the former AK Party mayor Hilmi Türkmen.

"MUNICIPAL BUDGET IS BALANCED WITH THE SALE OF REAL ESTATES"

1.3 billion liras, which is 27% of the 5 billion lira Üsküdar Municipality budget planned for 2024, was made through the sale of real estate. It can be seen that the municipal budget is based on balancing with the sale of real estate before the new management takes over.
